According to the research of our town historian Howard Kent, it is said, that in the early days of the settlement that has become Bonners Ferry, there were around twelve graves at an old site on the northside of the river ferry.
The interments were probably near pioneer Martin Fry's 2 story home, which was on the northside near the Fry trading post.
Martin worked at trading post with his brother on the northside of the ferry from the late 1870's. It is thought that his home was started in 1893, a picture dated 1898 shows the home being used as the first hospital. Today it is again being used as a residence and during a recent remodel a grave stone was seen built into the foundation, it is said that the name on the stone was Peter Gotlieb.
The only burial known for sure:
Lily Bruce 1880 - 1891
An article in the Bonners Ferry Herald in 1913 tells that Lily Bruce was moved to the Grandview Cemetery.
