These cemetery records are taken from the following sources:

  • Boundary Co. Free Museum - repository for Boundary County Historical Association, and their publication, Boundary County History Book
  • Death Records - Boundary Co. ID 1907-1988 compiled by Twila J. Stone
  • Boundary Co. ID Cemeteries - compiled by Alfred E. and Betty J. Shane 1987?
  • Sextons of the various cemeteries, including family cemeteries
  • Obituaries from the local newspapers, including those posted on the Internet and on this site.
  • Online obituaries - from 2004-2008 and include links to find them. For Boundary County obituaries for click here.
  • And just walking the cemeteries, looking at headstones and fighting mosquitoes!

The researchers have attempted to offer enough clues to find more resources, such as death certificates or cemetery information. Some of the entries came from newpaper obituaries, and sometimes not a great deal of information was available.

Some remain nameless, such as the numberless Chinese who died working on the railroad or in the mines, who are buried in a common grave at Crossport and other areas. In many instances in Idaho Chinese were exhumed and their remains returned to China.

We also have a compilation of pioneer gravesites on the Pioneers & Biographies page - LINK
