Iris Mae Yount, 88

Iris Mae Yount, 88, returned peacefully to our heavenly Father on Oct. 11, 2006 in her home in Spokane Valley, Wash.
Iris was born to Wirt and Geneva Bailey on July 31, 1918. She married James Yount on Dec. 1, 1936.
Iris enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing, stuffed animals, making caps on the loom and traveling with her family. She loved serving our Lord in various church callings. She will be remembered for teacing her family to love one another, to work hard and to serve your fellow man and love the Lord.
Iris was the loving mother of 14 children: June Dutson (Lathair) of Rogue River, Ore., James (Bonnie) of Bend, Ore., Maxine Marshall (Clayton) of Yakima, Wash., Margaret Norisada, David (Connie) and Pauline Baughman, all of Spokane, Dale (Phyllis) of Newman Lake, Shirley (Lyle) Bartle and Kathy (Bob) Wise, all of Spokane, Jack (Shelly) of Bonners Ferry, Rob (Cheryl) of Basin City, Wash., Darrell (Jan) of Port Angeles, Wash., Chris (Ann) of Priest River, Idaho and Ken (Alisa) of Naples. She was a wonderful grandmother to 100 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by brothers LaVerne and Norman; and a sister, June Pope.
Iris was preceded in death by her husband, Jim, in 1977; her brother, Jack; and her sister, Wilma Jacobs.
She raised her family at the family home on McArthur Lake near Naples, Idaho.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, Oct. 14, 2006 at 10 a.m. at the LDS Chapel at 14111 E. 16th in Spokane Valley. Interment was at the McArthur Cemetery in Naples, Idaho.
