Memorial services for Don Gene Wilson, 77, who passed away in Bonners Ferry January 3, 2005, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 11, in the Bonners Ferry Funeral Home Chapel.

Don was born in Gillette, Wyoming, October 10, 1927, the son of Wiley and Viola Wilson. He attended school in Twin Falls, Idaho, and moved to Bonners Ferry in August, 1945, where he attended Bonners Ferry High School before enlisting in the U.S. Army in 1946.

Following his military service, Don worked in Spokane for URM. He married Jacky Snyder October 19, 1950, in Spokane, and they moved to Bonners Ferry soon after their wedding.

Don worked as an auto mechanic for the D&P Auto dealership, and he worked as a millwright for the Moyie Lumber Company, Louisiana Pacific and the sawmill in Naples. He owned and operated Bonners Ferry Post Company, and he waked at Melody Muffler in Sandpoint before he retired in 1992.

He was a member of the Army National Guard, an original member of the Bonners Ferry Boat Club and a former member of the Jaycees. He enjoyed collecting model cars, feeding the song birds, refinishing antique furniture and he could build anything with his hands.

He is survived by daughters Sharon Wilson, Cheney, Washington, and Susan Wilson, Bonners Ferry; brothers Dan Wilson, his twin, Naples, Harley Wilson, Vacaville, California, and Wiley Wilson Jr., Albion, Washington; sisters Darlene Billingsley, Moyie Springs, and Nina Loy, Othello, Washington, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

His wife preceded him in death in September, 2004.

Funeral arrangements are being made by the Bonners Ferry Funeral Home.
