Eileen Yvonne 'Babe' Washburn

Eileen Yvonne “Babe” Washburn, 76, passed away on February 24, 2005, in the Harbor View Medical Center in Seattle, Washington after an extended illness. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 7, in the Bonners Ferry Funeral Home Chapel.
Babe was born on July 25, 1928, in Granville, North Dakota to Selmer and Josephine (Loitved) Anderson. As a young child she moved with her family to Naples, Idaho. She received her education at Naples, and Bonners Ferry. After her education she worked for several restaurants for 40 years, most at Don’s Café for Don Beatty.
On August 22, 1952, she married Warren Washburn in Libby, Montana. They made their home in Bonners Ferry. Over the years she also worked for the Deep Creek Motel, the Community Restorium and the Community Hospital. In 1997, at the age of 69, she decided to retire.
She loved the out-of-doors, camping, picnicking, fishing, word games, huckleberry picking and, most of all, meeting people and working.
Survivors include her husband, Warren at the family home in Bonners Ferry; son Warren J. Washburn Jr., Bonners Ferry; daughters Diane L Washburn, Killeen, Texas, and Doreen Farmer, Henderson, Nevada, and grandchildren Russell Washburn, Nicole Darty, Jermey Darty, Ashley Farmer and Kyle Farmer; and numerous nieces and nephews.
