Funeral services for Joyce Lucille Schied, 86, Bonners Ferry, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 18, at Grandview Cemetery. Joyce died Wednesday, June 15, 2005, in Bonners Ferry.
She was born April 28, 1919, in Grotan, South Dakota, and graduated from high school in Lemon, South Dakota. On September 14, 1939, she married Donald Schied in Lemon. Joyce moved to Billings, Montana, in 1940, and to Bonners Ferry in 1950. She became a librarian for the “Readers Club Library,” which became the Boundary County Library District. She retired as head librarian in 1981. For many years, she enjoyed winters in Yuma, Arizona.
Joyce is survived by sons Don Schied, Bonners Ferry, and Rick and wife Deann Schied, Auburn, Washington, brother Robert Jacobs, Downey, California, five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
