Margaret Marie Porter (69) died at her home near Naples, Idaho on June 2, 1996. Services will be held on Thursday, June 6, 1996 at 1:00 P.M. in the Bonners Ferry Funeral Home at Bonncrs Ferry, Idaho. Burial will follow in the McArthur Cemetery, Naples, Idaho.
Margaret was born on April 16,1927 in Truscott, Texas to John and Annie Gordon. She attended schools at Truscott, Texas and Elk, New Mexico. On October 16, 1945 Margaret married El Don Porter in Long Beach, California. She attended Cosmetology School and became a beautician. She worked in several beauty shops before opening and operating her own shop for several years. Margaret then worked in and managed shops for many years. In 1978 Margaret and Don moved to Naples, Idaho where they have resided until her death.
Margaret enjoyed crocheting when her health would allow her to but her greatest love was her grandchildren.
She is survived by: her husband, El Don Porter of Naples, Idaho; her son, Bill Porter and wife Susan of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; her brother, Elsie Gordon of Paramount, California; three sisters, Opal Goforth of Hemet, California, Lois Blatenburger of Northridgce, California, and Joyce Ann Colee of Portland, Oregon; two grandchildren, Angela and John; and one great grandson, Jacob.
