Lela Stich Morris - Feb. 13, 1913 - Apr. 19, 1981
Lela Morris died on April 19 at the Community Hospital in Bonners Ferry. She was 67.
Funeral services were held on April 22, 1981 at 1:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tom Eberle officiating. Burial was held in the Porthill Cemetery.
Lela was born on February 13, 1913 in Post Falls to John and Flora Stitch. She attended schools in Post Falls, Wisconsin and Porthill.
After school she married John Morris on April 30, 1928 in Sandpoint. Following their marriage they made their home in Porthill on the farm which her parents had owned. They purchased the farm in 1940, where they resided until her death.
Lela had many hobbies among them, she enjoyed her flowers, garden, fishing and sewing, but her biggest enjoyment was her family.
She is survived by her husband, John, of Bonners Ferry; children Cecil Morris of Bonners Ferry, Lois Perry of Modesto, Calif., Juanita McGrau of Carnas, Wash., Barbara Johanson of Bellvue, Wash., and Edith Avey of Bellingham, Wash.; one brother, George Stitch of Lewiston: 17 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Beula Wood; a brother, John Stitch; her parents; and two grandchildren.
