          John McArthur, 80, passed away on Oct 10, 2002. John was born on Aug. 20, 1922 in Aznoe, Mont and grew up in the Bonners Ferry, Idaho area. He served in the US Army during World War II.
          Following the Army, John returned to Idaho and married Joan Salyers of Sandpoint, Idaho in July of 1950. They made their home on the West Hill of Kent, Wash, for 47 years.
          John worked for The Boeing Company for 34 years, retiring as a structural test mechanic in October, 1985. He had many good years with Boeing including travel to Montana, North Dakota, Nevada, Australia and Trinidad. John was proud to be a member of the IAM Union Local 751 for over 50 years.
          John was preceded in death by his wife, Joan, who passed away in December of 1997. He is survived by his children Kara McArthur (Dan McKnight) of Shoreline, Wash.; Kathy Burns (Ron) of Renton, Wash.; Jon McArthur (Monica) of Carnation, Wash.; Kelly McArthur of SeaTac, Wash.; grandchildren Keri Davis (Dan McClane); Jennifer Davis; Katharine McKnight; Conor McKnight; and great grandchildren Nathan and Emily McClane; sisters Ruby Tippee (Jim) of Spokane, Wash.; Marie Muir of Kingston, Id. and Lucille Myers of Post Falls, Id.
          Memorials can be made to Providence Marianwood, 3725 Providence Point Drive SE, Issaquah, WA 98029 and Evergreen Hospice, 12822 124th Lane NE, Kirkland, WA 98034. The family extends its gratitude to the excellent caregivers at Marianwood and Evergreen, Hospice. Following cremation, John was laid to rest at the McArthur Cemetery near Sandpoint, Id.
