Betty J. Mackey

Betty J. Mackey passed away Feb. 6, 2005, at the Life Care Center in Sandpoint, Idaho.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 11, 2000, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Bonners Ferry.
Betty was born May 13, 1932, in Hartsville, S.C., to Gray and Laney (Newsome) Raines. She grew up and attended school in Augusta, Ga.
Betty married Bill Mackey on June 28, 1953 in Augusta.
Betty enjoyed reading and playing bridge. She was a member of the PEO, Beta Sigma Phi, Cancer Society and Hospital Auxiliary.
After Bill retired in 1990 they would spend their winters in Mesa, Ariz.
Betty is survived by her two sons, Tom Mackey and wife Mary of Bonners Ferry and Don Mackey of Reno, Nev.; four grandchildren, Thomas Mackey and Lisa Mackey of Bonners Ferry, Ashley Mackey of Maui, Hawaii, and Courtney Mackey of Reno, Nev.; and a brother, Doug Cox of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Bill, in 1998 and daughter, Debbie in 1973.
