July 31, 2005

Services were held Saturday at the Troy LDS Church for longtime Troy businesswoman Goldie Lindsay, 77, who died January 10, 2005, at the Libby Care Center.

She was born in Helena, Montana, November 8, 1927, to Jake and Goldie Jacques Freeman, and on August 13, 1947, she married Ray Lindsey. Together, they owned and operated the Ray Lindsey Insurance Agency, and after selling the business in the 1970s, Goldie continued working as a Troy representative for various Libby insurance agencies.

She loved to travel, read and laugh, and she found enjoyment in nearly everything. She was active in Order of the Eastern Star, the Troy women’s bowling leagues and the Cabinet View Golf Club. She was also a member of the Troy LDS Church.

Goldie is survived by her husband; sons Bim Lindsey and wife Janice, Lincoln City, Oregon, and Tim Lindsey and wife Darla, Houston, Texas; brother Pete Waychoff and wife Rosslyn, Libby; sister Joan Maynard and husband Rusty, Troy; niece Chris Tallmadge, also of Troy; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Troy Tsunami Relief Fund.
