LENA S. JANTZ
Mrs. Lena S. Jantz, daughter of Bernard and Suzie Jantz Schmidt, was born on Aug. 4, 1882 in Butler County, Kansas and departed this life on June 28, 1965 at Community Hospital, Bonners Ferry, Ida., reaching the age of 82 yeers, 10 months and 24 days.
As a child she moved with her parents to Goltry, Okla. where she received her education returning to Kansas as a young girl where she made her home with several different families.
On June 13, 1907 she was united in marriage to Fred B. Jantz at Tampa, Kan. She was converted and baptized as a young woman.
In 1941 she moved with her family to Bonners Ferry, Ida., where her husband was in farming and carpentry.
She was preceded in death by one son, Lawrence Jantz and by her husband on Sept. 3, 1960. She was a member of the Mt. View church of god in Christ, Mennonite.
Survivors include two sons, Glen E. Jantz and Alva L. Jantz of Bonners Ferry, Ida.; three daughters, Mrs. Audra Concannon and Mrs. Don (Esther) O'Meara of Spokane, Wash. and Mrs. Paul (Grace) Norman of Bonners Ferry; four brothers, Pete Schmidt of Wichita, Kan., Jake Schmidt, Ben and John Schmidt of Enid, Okla.; one sister, Mrs. Mary Hemple, Minneola, Kan.; and eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Mother's Christian life wasn't always an easy one as she had many struggle in life. We feel that she has gone to her heavenly reward. The last few months were spent with her children who cared for her.
Funeral services were held in the Mt. View Mennonite Church on Friday, July 2, 1965 with Min. Curtis Dirks and Min. Edmund Justus officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. — The Family.
