Clinton Francis Hooper, 77

Clinton Francis Hooper, 77, passed away Friday, November 10, with his loving wife at
his side after a brief illness. He lived a rich and full life beginning October 3, 1929 in
Grass Valley, California.
He played football and baseball for Grass Valley High School where he graduated in
1947. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from San Jose State University in 1957
after receiving an honorary discharge from the US Air Force in 1952 with the rank of
Staff Sergeant.
He taught elementary school in Willits, Oroville, and Grass Valley for many years and
then began a career in real estate. After his retirement, he and his wife Katherine
moved to Bonners Ferry, Idaho where they have spent the last peaceful and happy
years of his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank L. Hooper and Isabel (Bennallack)
Hooper and his sister Nina Ingram.
He is survived by his wife Katherine (Wayne) Hooper; his sister Joanne Clingon
(McCall, Montana); his sons Richard and Frank Hooper and his daughter Helen
Pettigrew; grandchildren Brian, T.J. , Lydia and Roger; and great-grandchildren Hailey
and Audrey (Grass Valley, Calif.); his step-children James Smith (Roseburg, Ore.),
Shauna (Smith) Wenzl (Clayton, Calif.), Lisa (Smith) Dunham (Nevada City, Calif.) and
their families.
He was cherished and will live on I the memories of his friends and family.
Memorial Services will be held at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 6784 Cody St., Bonners
Ferry, ID 83805 at 2 p.m. on Friday, November 17, 2006.
