Bonners Ferry native Roy Allen Hodgson, 69, Ione, Washington, died June 5, 2006, following a battle against cancer. Services were held June 10 at Grandview Cemetery.
Roy was born to Merl and Verna (Pugh) Hodgson May 22, 1937, in Bonners Ferry. He attended school here, playing baseball, basketball and boxing while in high school. He served his country for eight years as a member of the Idaho National Guard. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and raising livestock.
He lived in the St. Maries area for the last 25 years, working in the logging industry.
Roy is survived by brother Ray and his wife Jody Hodgson, Helena, Montana; sisters Jennie and Don Lovell, Ione; Ellen Balascia, Plano, Texas, and Linda Reffett, The Dalles, Oregon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
