A memorial graveside service with military honors for Richard Roy Florea, 60, will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, June 20, in the Moravia Cemetery. Richard died Tuesday, June 14, in Spokane.
Richard was born in Bonners Ferry December 12, 1944, to Frank and Irene Florea. He graduated from Bonners Ferry High School in 1963, and served in the U.S. Army from 1963 through 1966.
On January 18, 1969, he married Carol Ann LaFountain in Bonners Ferry. He worked in communications, living in Whitefish, Montana, Concho, Arizona and Newport, Washington. He later drove a truck for Puget Sound Trucking until retiring early due to poor health.
He was a staunch fan of the Gonzaga Bulldogs and the Seattle Mariners, and he enjoyed golf and working with wood.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Ann, Oldtown, Idaho; children Jeannie and husband Mike Meyer, Newport, James and wife Michelle Florea, Tri-Cities, Washington, and Marney Florea, Spokane; brothers Harold Florea, Mount Vernon, Washington, Clarence Florea, Sandpoint, Thomas Florea, Bonners Ferry and twin Robert Florea, Havre, Montana; sisters Evelyn Stanczak, Arnold, California, Fern Guthrie, Spokane, and Lenora Tucker, Newport; and nine grandchildren.
