Kenneth Wayne Dinning, 67, passed away peacefully July 2, 2005, at Boundary Community Hospital. Vigil Services will be held at 7 p.m. July 8 in the Bonners Ferry Funeral Home Chapel and Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 9 at St. Ann's Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery in Bonners Ferry.

Ken was born on May 20, 1938, to Roland and Mary (Walker) Dinning at the family home in Porthill, Idaho.

He attended grade school in Porthill and Mount Hall Elementary and graduated from Bonners Ferry High School May 20, 1956. In 1957, he graduated from Molar Barber School in Spokane.

He married Donna Jean Mace on December 17, 1956, in Bonners Ferry, and together they raised five children: Don, Dennis, Keith, Teresa and Vicki.

He was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church.

Ken operated "Ken's Barber Shop" in Bonners Ferry for many years. He also logged and dairy farmed. Ken retired in 2000 due to poor health.

Ken's biggest love and joy was his family. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, the kids’ sporting events, and his friends at his barber shop.

He is survived by his wife, Donna; children Don and wife Mary Cay, Bonners Ferry, Dennis and wife Anita, Chattaroy, Washington, Keith, Coeur d'Alene, Teresa Raaum and husband Duane, Bonners Ferry, and Vicki Dinning, Chattaroy; grandchildren Abby Maas and husband Willie, Bonners Ferry, Dustin Dinning, Kansas City, Hannah, Aubree and Aimee Dinning, all of Coeur d'Alene, Melissa Dinning, Spokane, Lacey and Donnie Dinning, both of Bonners Ferry, Kendra Dinning, Chattaroy, and Tori, Kourtney and Zachary Raaum, all of Bonners Ferry; and two great grandchildren; Chad and Alexandra Maas, both of Bonners Ferry.

He is also survived by brothers Gifford and wife Lura, Ray and wife Carolyn, LaVern and wife Eunice, and sister-in-law Evelyn Dinning, all of Bonners Ferry; sister Mary Ula Schaller and husband Bud, Thompson Falls, Montana, sister-in-law Bobby Dinning, Libby, Montana; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Leighton and Irvin, sister Beulah Lyle, brother-in-law Lowell Lyle and nephews Randy Dinning and Lawrence Lyle.

Memorials may be made to the St. Ann's Building Fund, the Community Restorium or Grandview Cemetery.
