Nina Chordas 1931 ~ 2006

Nina G. Chordas, 74, Bonners Ferry, passed away May 29, 2006. A celebration of her life was held at her home prior to her death.
Nina was born in Georgia, Russia, December 20, 1931. She came to the United States in the early 1950s, living in Cleveland, Ohio, Monterey, California, and after her marriage to Michael "Misha" Chordas, Bonners Ferry.
She was a long time teacher of the Russian language at the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, which is where she met Misha. She will always be remembered for holidays and celebrations with a house filled with friends, family and students, many of whom continued to correspond with her long after they left her class.
She is survived by her husband; children George and Sharon Balint; Steve and Terry Balint; Michael and Cynthia Balint; Nina Chordas; Helen Froissart; Lubmilla Nelson; Alexandra Chordas; and Peter and Dina Chordas; sister Helen Lovinov (Vadim), and numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by infant son John Balint and her mother, Tatiana V. Prujan.
