Jim Ansley, 66

Jim Ansley, 66, passed away on November 22, 2006 at his home in Bonners Ferry. Funeral
services were held Wednesday, November 15, 2006 at 10 a.m. in the Exhibit Hall at the Boundary
County Fairgrounds, Bonners Ferry, Idaho.
Jim Ansley was born James Henry Ansley in Amarillo, Texas on November 7, 1940 to Henry and
Mary Ansley. Jim lived his early years in Northern Texas and western Oklahoma. He graduated
from high school in 1959 at Lockney, Texas. In 1964 he graduated from Panhandle State College
in Goodwell, Oklahoma receiving a Bachelors of Science Degree and an Army Officer Commission.
Following graduation he served his enlistment in the Army which include one year in Vietnam.
In 1967 he moved to Bonners Ferry, Idaho where he resided until his death. Jim married Sally
Ann Tanner in 1969 and they had four sons, Hank, Clarence F. Merle and Scott. Jim was employed
as a school teacher at Mount Hall and Valley View Elementary schools for five years. He also logged,
farmed, and had a welding repair shop.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Sally; four sons, Hank,
Clarence F., Merle, and Scott. Merle married Jenny Foust in 1999 and they have two daughters,
Emily and Holly and a son, Jackson. Jim had two sisters, Janney Chandler of Bonners Ferry,
Evelyn Anderson of Abilene, Texas and a brother, Clarence W. Ansley of Fort Worth, Texas and
several nieces and nephews.
